History

Brock’s was founded by Maurice and Anne Brock in 1961.

Before the start of Brock’s, Maurice was self-employed as a supplier of rough sawn lumber where he would purchase logs, cut, mill them into rough sawn boards, and transport them to a manufacturer of wooden boxes in Manchester, New Hampshire.

With plastic becoming more popular, wooden boxes were phasing out. Looking into the future, he knew that he had to find new employment.

One day in the spring of 1961, he decided to invest $1000 in a new product called plywood. He back hauled a load of plywood from Manchester and decided to give this a try as a new career. At this time, Anne would try to sell the plywood during the day while he hauled rough sawn lumber to Manchester. As time went on, the plywood business won over the rough sawn lumber business. In 1988, the store had to expand and they moved into their current location which includes a 30,000 square foot office and showroom.

What started in a shed in their yard has now grown into a company with over 85,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space. Brock’s is now in its second generation with their son Scott and his wife Connie at the helm. As of June 2007, Brock’s had a staff of 73 employees.

We have grown into a regional industry leader, distributing a wide range of products. This includes a full service flooring department, Kitchen department w/3 fulltime designers as well as an exclusive Setup Shop which provides a wide variety of custom millwork solutions.

We carry plywood plus all the other building materials you need at very competitive prices. Our low turnover staff now includes 73 full and part-time employees with over 600 years of combined experience in the building materials and hardware fields.
